What does a desperate child do while he waits for a sponsor? He thanks God for your “shelter” gift, providing a place of refuge from abuse, poverty, malnutrition, exploitation ¬– even war. We’re doing our best to find sponsors…in the meantime you can help us start them on the road to bright futures while they wait!Give Now
Do you have a desire to help at-risk children? Are you looking for an opportunity that will change your life as well? Do you want to experience your faith in Jesus Christ on a whole new level?
Then Kids Alive needs you to lead or participate on one of our service teams!
Kids Alive Service Teams
Your family, church, or other organization will serve vulnerable children around the globe while motivating you all to become more effective followers of Christ.
In volunteering abroad, you’ll also have excellent opportunities to look beyond your own circumstances and recognize God at work in other countries and cultures.
- Involve 5-20 participants
- Are formed from a church, family, or organization
- Serve on one of our fields for 1-3 weeks
As a service team volunteer, you’ll travel with your team to one or more Kids Alive ministry locations – Residential Children’s Home, Care Center, School or Clinic.
Teams usually work together to accomplish a specific goal, such as leading a children’s program or doing construction improvements on a home, depending on the team’s skills.
Kids Alive sends nearly 100 international volunteer teams to our fields each year.
Whether sharing the Good News of God’s love with kids in a summer program, painting a new classroom, helping to build a Children’s Home, or using your medical training in one of our Clinics – you can be sure a Kids Alive service team will provide you with the experience of a lifetime!
What skills do you have that can help?
- Minor home repair
- Child care
- Music, art, or drama
- Tutoring children
- Activity planning
- Other (just tell us!)
The cost for each member of a Service Team depends on the location, length of stay, and type of project. The total generally ranges from $840 to $1200 per person, plus airfare.
This amount includes in-country costs (projects, food, lodging, and local travel) and supports our Child Care and Rescue Fund. Add-on trips for sightseeing can be arranged for an additional cost!
Where are service teams most needed in 2015?
If your church, organization, or family would like to form a team, we’ll do our best to accommodate your schedule, preferred location, interests, and skills. (Unfortunately, Kids Alive International doesn’t currently have the structure or staff necessary to provide one- or two-week volunteer opportunities for individuals or couples.)
